RV IN AND OUTS
Winter or summer preparation.
#1 Always run your generator once a month to prevent build up and to keep the carb clean. And make sure its under load.
#2 Battery. Always make sure you have water in them esp the 6 volts the drink more and use distilled water. Never over charge and a good battery that is used seasonal will last 2-4 yrs if stored right. If its going to be a long summer or winter pull them out and set them on a piece of wood in the garage.
#3 WINTER OR SUMMER STORAGEAlways use fuel stabil in both tanks and atv as well. and if you ever get build up in the coach or generator Use SEA FOAM they sell this at auto parts stores and and cleans and prevents build up. It is really a great Product I heard about it a few yrs ago and use it on my car, truck, rv and my KTM 450 as well. If clears jets and remove carbon buildup in all 2 or 4 stroke engines.
#4 BUY A RV COVER. This will add yrs to the life of your coach and it keeps the inside cool from heat ups as well. and it protects from wind rain snow and other harmfull things like UV RAYS..
#5 Pressure Regulator.. Always use one where you are hooked up unless you have a press vavle with a PSI adj on it. They make them and they are really cool.
#6 Cleaning the carb on the generator. always use carb cleanor first. A trick is to run sea foam first if that doesnt work count the # of turns in on the main jet from the current position to turning it all the way in. You will need this # later. Then back the screw all the way out may have a spring look for it. and spray carb cleanor in the hole for 5 second and then spay again and screw that screw all the way back in. Let it sit for 3 hrs and then back screw out to that # you have will be between 2-4 turns outs every one is different. and should get that bby running good again no bog. if not repeat 2-4 times if after 4 it hasnt worked you will need to remove the card and prob get a new one since they are like only 60$ you will still need to remember the jet setting for the main idle.. But Mine was gummed bad would even start and I learned this from a blog several yrs ago and its saved hundreds of people on the web..
#7 Changing the oil On Generator.
do this every 100-150 hrs use the SAE 30 for all condition. and make sure you have the proper amount. In most cases you will prob add a little back to the gene before each change since it will burn a little with heavy usage. This is normal.
#8 Tire Pessure.
Always always check the pressure your coach should rtun between 50-70 psi at all times to prevent blow out or abnormal wear. Also use jackstands when in storage or rotate tires once a month to prevent flat spots.
